Behind The Lens

Location

I took this photo in the city of Heerhugowaard, Netherlands. This cute little canal is close to my home and is about 3.5 km of length, with several bridges build across.

Time

Was around 5:30pm when I took this shot in early November 2013.

Lighting

Loved the position of the sun, hiding behind the houses creating a beautiful colour within the clouds, all together creating the amazing reflection on the water.

Equipment

Used a NIKON D2Hs, Tamron 70-200mm f/2.8 and a tripod.

Inspiration

Nature and objects always inspire me and my Nikon. Colour contrasts between sky and earth can create amazing effects.

Editing

It was one of my first shots I took for HDR post-processing. I guess did it very well, as I received lots of positive feedback.

In my camera bag

My D2Hs, various lenses, and my flashgun.

Feedback

Creating wonderful shots like this, take them when the sun is almost set. It gives such nice colours in the sky. Even more if the clouds come into play which provide extra dynamic in the shot.
