Location
This photo was taken in my sitting room, almost crouching in the corner, in a cold wintery England.Time
It was taken one Christmas evening.Lighting
All lights, except the fiber optic tree and the tv, were off. There is a streetlight almost right outside my house and, as the curtain is relatively thin, there was a little light from that but not too much.Equipment
Hand held Nikon L110 Coolpix bridge camera.Inspiration
I just love the fiber optic lights. The tree was almost behind me and I just happened to have the camera in my hands. I was also curious to see what results I could get. It was also a chance to test out a camera I hadn't had for very long. I did the same when I got the Panasonic.Editing
I used Photobrush to darken the whole picture and then boosted the colours a bit. It was quite a while ago, but I think I sharpened it a tiny bit too. In photobrush the colours would be on 50, and using the "sharpen more" filter. In my camera bag
I have 2 camera bags. One currently has a Pentax P30 with 200mm lens (35mm camera), a wide angle lens, 2x tele lens, and variuos filters (CPL; UV; 10+Diopter; 4,6 and 8 star effect; IR, graduated ND ) spare battery (that moves between bags), AA batteries, bits of the dark bits off the end of a strip of negatives. The other bag, the one I always have with me, has my Panasonic Lumix FZ48 camera, wide angle lens (slightly wider than the other) and occationally a filter - most recently the IR filter. There are various other 35mm cameras packed away as well as the Nikon Coolpix. And until recently there was a little Jenopix which I converted to take IR photos.Feedback
Have fun. The photo is all about movement. Try all sorts. Some things work well, others don't. Aperture, shutter speed and ISO are all things to fiddle with to get the right result.
