Location

Washington D.C.

Time

9 pm

Lighting

It was snowing/raining and it was dark, but I noticed there was a light source from up above.

Equipment

nikon d7000 with a rokinon fish eye

Inspiration

I live in the D.M.V. area and I was showing some friends from other places the touristy stuff. It was an awful day to do stuff and it was getting awfully late but I stil wanted to show my friends Lincoln Memorial. To my surprise, there were more people there than i expected. It was a new experience, seeing Lincoln at night vs. day. There was a soft light on Lincoln but it wasnt enough for me to get a good shot of him and there were many people around him. I waited and waited until people cleared up the frame and suddenly I noticed there was light from above, i looked up and saw the strange ceiling and I thought, with this cold, dark night and the eerieness from this place, it'd probably make a unique photo.

Editing

I upped the exposure on lincoln.

In my camera bag

85Mm 1.8, 35mm 1.8, fish eye, petzval

Feedback

Touristy attractions get boring fast, but you can take a chance and visit during the most unsual hours and weather and possibly come across something unique.
