Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken at a Wedding that I did a couple of years ago. The couple's daughter was incredibly adorable. I took this as she was trying to fix her dress and get ready for the ceremony.

Time

It was just after three in the afternoon.

Lighting

We were outside in a park near the Mississippi River in half shade. The light was natural and perfect.

Equipment

Canon T3 with 18-55mm Macro Lens. Camera: Canon EOS REBEL T3 Aperture: f/14.0 ISO: 800 Shutter Speed: 1/200 Focal Length: 190/1

Inspiration

She just looked so adorable. Like innocence personified.

Editing

I added a simple bokeh in Photoshop. The Picture was almost perfect as it was.

In my camera bag

I have a Canon DSLR in my bag and I carry the 18-55mm EFS lens, a 75-300mm Zoom and a Speedlight Flash. I also have several differing sizes of self made light diffusers and light bouncing devices.

Feedback

I would say that natural soft lighting is a commodity that is worth more than gold. Your eye will get better the more pics you take. Fill your frame with the subject. The only other thing I can say is be ready to catch the action at any time.
