Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was take on a beautiful beach in Thailand. It was a one of those fleeting moments to capture to fading skies transition into dusk

Time

This photo was taken around 7'o clock in the evening when the ocean waves became stronger and the ocean winds turned colder. Since the sun was setting at a certain pace it was a challenge to capture this beautiful moment at the right time.

Lighting

The contrast in the sky between light the dark and the divergence of the colours compelled me to take this picture naturally using the fading sunlight. I believe that the ocean and the sky blend in a manner that allow the colours of the sun to develop a certain charisma and make the overall scene worth capturing.

Equipment

This was shot on a Canon 700 D

Inspiration

On that particular evening I had no intention to take any pictures as all I had planned foe was to spend an evening on the beach with my family; But s the sun started to set and the sky began to turn dark I looked up and saw a beautiful sight before my eyes. The colours and the contrast between the light and dark compelled to pull out my camera and capture this beautiful moment.

Editing

I post processed this picture to accentuate the colours using luminosity masks.

In my camera bag

I always carry my Cannon 700 D camera and my 400mm Canon Zoom Lens

Feedback

Photography is an art that highlights the personality and the character of each photographer. The type of pictures taken reflects a photographers state of mind and an emotion. It is essential to have patience, especially for landscape photography. Look for the contrast in light and the mixture of colours in a particular landscape that would portray a particular story. Capturing at the right moment also plays a major role in landscape photography. I would say patience is the key.
