Behind The Lens

Location

The photo was taken on a trip to the Norwegian site Trolltunga. The stone formation is a very famous tourist attraction close to my home, and me and my friend had wanted to go for a while. Due to it being such a tourist attraction we were expecting to walk in a line and not be very impressed, but the entire hike was really breathtaking.

Time

The picture was taken at 12:30, in the middle of the day. We had amazing sunshine all the way up.

Lighting

The sun really set the scene here. It rains a lot in Norway, so getting this beatiful weather in a photograph is great.

Equipment

Incredibly, this was taken with my Xperia V mobile camera.

Inspiration

I took many pictures on this hike. Many of them "classics" from the Trolltunga area. But on this particular part of the trip, we had gone past many of the tourist and felt the real tranquility and inspiration from Norwegian nature.

Editing

I have not done any post-processing.

In my camera bag

At the moment I don't own a lot of equipment, so I only bring the simple camera that I have.

Feedback

The Norwegian nature is magnificent on its own. In May you can catch flower blooming and in June, you can often get shots in beautiful sunshine where a lot of snow is still capping the mountains. This picture was taken in July, July/August being the most secure months for good weather. If you have a lucky day in September you can get beautiful autumn colours and less snowy mountains. Always avoid October and November in Norway! The particular hike is usually unsafe/unavailable in the winter.
