Behind The Lens

Location

The image was captured at 4am in the middle of summer in the Lake District of a beautiful place called Buttermere

Time

4am

Lighting

Wait for the sunrise ;-)

Equipment

Camera was set on a tripod with remote release

Inspiration

We knew the sun would come up on the other side of the mere, my friend was at the waters edge, I stepped back liked the composition of the trees, been early morning, there was a layer of mist on the water, which added to the image

Editing

I use photoshop, highlights lowered, shadows upped and a little more contrast.

In my camera bag

I carry a Canon 70d, Tokina 12-24mm f4 lens, Sigma 28-105mm f2.8-4, Canon 50mm f1.8, Canon 70-200mm f2.8, I use Lee filters, big stoppa, soft nd grads .3,.6,.9, Poloriser and pro nd .6, Gioto tripod and ball head.

Feedback

Do your research on the area to which you want to shoot, get there early so you have plenty of time to set-up and head torch is a good investment, walk round the area, have a look for different angles or something that will make your image stand out from the rest.
