Location

This photo was taken in Nylstroom South Africa at my cousins home in her yard.

Time

My cousin was going to her school dance and it struck me just how she had grown. So I grabbed my camera just before she had to leave at 4:30 in the afternoon.

Lighting

Golden hour is always a gift to any photographer no matter what you photograph.

Equipment

I shot with a Canon 1000D. A 18-55mm lens and no other equipment

Inspiration

I wanted to capture my cousin growing up before my very eyes. This was after I hadn't seen her for a few years. I didn't want to miss this time in her life.

Editing

I used photoshop to make a few tweeks to add some mood to the lighting and just some general cleaning up.

In my camera bag

I pack the only equipment I own. My Canon 1000D 18-55mm lens and a micro tripod with at least 3 different memory cards.

Feedback

Always try capture your loved ones when they are excited or really happy about something. Where the feelings are so overwhelming they forget to pose and just let themselves burst through. To me, these are the photos that mean the most.
