Beautiful shot. Love the framing and I really love that ship. I can't wait to sail on her again.

Location
This photo was taken in Grand Turk. The beach is just a short walk from the cruise ship terminal. As you can see in the photo, there are people swimming extremely close to the ship. The water is very deep, but calm that day, and the area is roped off, indicating that you should not go any further. The water really is that lovely blue and pretty as captured in the photo.Time
This is one of my favorite photos from this cruise. It was taken in November, 2013, mid-day, shortly after the cruise ship docked. The weather was perfect! I was anxious to get on the beach, and go in the water, but could not resist taking the photo first.Lighting
It was a perfect, sunny day, with nice, white clouds. One could not ask for anything more.Equipment
This photo was taken with a Canon Powershot SX 260 HS. F4.5, ISO 200, Shutter Speed 1/1250. This camera is a "point and shoot" that I brought on the trip so that I could carry it with me wherever I went, and not have to worry about something happening to it, or losing or damaging something more expensive. Technology has improved since then, but at the time, this camera did not let me down.Inspiration
I have been a self-taught "photo enthusiast" my entire life. I love taking photos of almost anything, anywhere, especially pretty landscapes and nature. I am always looking to capture images that show beauty, people, landscape, nature, color, "scale" or a host of other characteristics. I try to incorporate a unique "perspective" into my photos to make them stand out. I could not pass up on this one.Editing
I used Photoshop to adjust the white balance to make the ship and the clouds a little whiter. I also adjusted the levels to make the colors pop.In my camera bag
My "walking around" camera is a Canon EOS 77D, and my "walking around" prime lens is a Sigma 18-300 mm. I also have a Canon kit lens (18-55 mm), and a Tamron 150 - 600 mm zoom lens. That one gets "heavy" after carrying it around for a while, but to me, that is a small "trade-off" for capturing images I would not have gotten otherwise.Feedback
Be adventurous and be creative. Take wide angle shots, and close ups! If you are not sure how your photos will turn out, take several shots and experiment. There is nothing wrong with "trial and error". Sometimes the best shots come from "Auto" mode on the camera, and sometimes trying different manual settings, either Aperture Priority or Shutter Priority may work better. Use "live view" and make adjustments so that you can take a photo you will be happy with.
