One of the smallest churches in Iceland. Built in 1857 was used as a church until the 1910. From 1917 to 1929 the building was used as residential housing. 1963-64 again converted into a church and has been preserved by the National Museum of Iceland since then. January 2nd 2010 the timbur church burnt down completely to ashes. Thousands of people was visiting the church on every year. The door was wide open for everyone (as you can see) most of the time. Krýsuvíkurkirkja was one of my favorites churches in Iceland. Does not exist anymore.
