Located in Death Valley, down a stretch of "primitive road" that takes 4 hours to crawl down at 8 miles an hour. One of the most amazing places I've been, and one of the stupidest things I've done yet. When conditions are just right, the rocks on the lakebed floor move by themselves, presumably pushed by the wind, leaving trails (like the one on the right). It's the only place on earth where this phenomenon occurs. If there's a more special place, I can't think of it.
