"Pachamama" is the mother earth. Andean people still practice an ancient ceremony of adoration. They receive so much from the land that they pay a tribute. This is called in spanish, "pago a la tierra". They give to the land, flowers, food, seeds, coca leaves, liquor, and with prays the shaman wrap everything in fabrics and buries it to receive a good harvest. For andean people, the land is their sanctuary.
