I shot this at Oceanside Pier in San Diego California!Time
Shot durning the Golden Hour, I waited all day for the sun to be just above the water just minutes before sunset!Lighting
No other lighting was used, just the sun!Equipment
I shot this with my Sony A77 with 16-55 f2.8 lens, hand held well kneeling in the sand as waves came closer and closer soaking all the sand around me!Inspiration
After a day of playing in the ocean I went to get my camera to try and capture some sunset shots, I love silhouette sunsets photography so I put that on my list of captures a long while back and that's what inspired me! So about 1hr before sunset I hit the pier snapping a few shots when I looked over the pier I seen a surfer exiting the water carrying her surfboard and that's when my creative instincts kicked in! I hustled down from the pier to the beach to find her and introduced myself and meet her (Model: Monoca Eiler) and I asked if she would be up for a Rougue Photo Shoot? Luckily for me she agreed to! So the pressure was on because she said we have to make it quick as she did not have much time! We shot for about 20mins all in all and I got some wonderful images this being one of them!Editing
Not much was done in post, just had to bump the contrast and highlight the sky a little to bring out the blue'In my camera bag
Well I'm still acquiring most of my equipment and it depends on what type of shoot I'm headed two, but my primary bag I try to carry the basics with me which consists of 2 camera body's, 2 lens, 2 speed lights, flash triggers, 5-1 reflector, ton of batteries and chargers, cleaning fluid with cloth 4 memory cards and a gel filter kit along with a few portable softbox's!Feedback
Practice and get to know your camera, move around placing your subject in between you in the sun well you move to different angles until you get the look you want, beware of the sun glares and have fun!
