Location
This was taken at the coast of Simaisma, a small town about 35km northeast of the city of Doha in Qatar.Time
This was taken between 0700h to 0715h Qatar time, almost way past the Golden Hour.Lighting
My wife got out from work around 6am. And she was insisting that we go out so I can take some photos. And she wanted to go this small town, about an hour from our place. I told her that we'll just drive to the town so she can visit it but I won't be taking any photos since the sun will be too bright already once we arrived. Once we arrived at the town of Simaisma, she insisted that I should take some photos. And so I did, just for the sake of practicing using filters. This particular shot was the last shot of the day. Upon seeing it from the camera's LCD I already know that it has potential but will be a challenge to edit due to its color cast.Equipment
Camera was an APS-C (Canon SL1/100D), 18-55mm kit lens, a Velbon 347GB tripod and some rip-off version of Cokin P-series filters which gave a very strong color cast.Inspiration
My wife. She was very supportive of my hobby. A good example was this photo. She came from a 12-hour shift, endured another hour just for us to get there, 30minutes more while I was taking photos and another hour to get back home before she was able to take some rest.Editing
I did. But with Lightroom 5.7 only since my knowledge of PS was zero. I had to research on how to remove color cast And how to remove unwanted items from the picture using solely LR.In my camera bag
When I took this photo, I had the following in my LowePro Flipside 300 bag: Rip-off Cokin P-series filters and filter holder Canon 50mm f1.8 lens Vivitar 52mm UV and Polarizer lens a Lego Led flashlight Joby camera strap 58mm UV filter Canon 24mm f2.4 pancake lensFeedback
Always have an inspiration so that your photos will always tell a story about your current mood or feeling when the shot was taken. Learn to take photos without thinking that you can post process it via Photoshop later as not all people are good at it. Also, as a photographer, we should always adjust to the scene in order for us to take good shots. And lastly, don't take for granted mediocre shots, as sometimes these shots are the most beautiful you've taken during your photo op.
