Location
At the Shindig Festival in Baltimore. Several bands on different stages through out the weekend; primarily punk music, but a few metal bands as well. I was wondering from from end of the stadium to another, when I saw this little girl rocking out to Halestorm and Clutch. She was so animated and into the music, she cast a striking image. I made my way trough the crowd toward her and captured the image without her ever being aware. Really enjoyed the support of her parents who let he be herself and express herself, while still standing by with a protective hand. Beautiful moment,Time
It was getting to be sundown, so the sun made the image all the more striking as it bounced off the staging and signage in the middle of what was normally an open field.Lighting
I always prefer natural lighting in my photos and this was just a perfect timing sort of thing, where she was bathed in sun beams as she energetically enjoyed the music and made almost a halo of light around her, as she exuded pure joy and natural energy.Equipment
Just my handy and easy to travel with tablet. I'm no much for frills when it comes to photos, but natural elements and being there at the right time, right place when something striking occurs.Inspiration
The inspirational credit goes to this little girl who inspired everyone around her at this music festival. She was so caught up in the moment and expressed herself so freely and beautifully, it was a perfect moment that made me feel good to be a part of and proud of; simply for being able to preserve it.Editing
Not really, other than cropping the image to draw the eye to what I would like to stand out more and using filters, like the choice of black and white shown here, which I thought showed off the sunlight and contrasting images rather nicely. In my camera bag
I'm really not very technical at all and have limited resources when it comes to equipment. Usually it's just me and my tablet, keeping my eyes open and hoping to "find a moment" you might say.Feedback
Just pay attention to your surroundings. Work with the natural back drops, lighting and so on, then make yourself a part of it, looking at everything from different angles to see how the story of the images may change.
