I have taken this photo in the village where I grew up in Slovakia. Since I was a complete beginner at that time this photo was only taken from my room's balcony. I feel lucky that I could grow up at such a place.Time
It was a late afternoon when I was playing a computer game when I noticed the light coming through the windows into my room and painting the wall reddish orange. I took my camera in my hand immediately and went out to my balcony to take photos.Lighting
At that time I haven't really thought much about lightning.Equipment
This was shot on an Olympus compact camera. Nothing too serious.Inspiration
I was simply mesmerized by the beauty of the sunset and the warm colors lightening up the sky.Editing
I did only a little bit of post-processing to bring more contrast into the picture. In my camera bag
Since I'm still an amateur I only have a Nikon D3200 in my bag with the 18-55mm kit lens and a Tamron 70-300mm lens with a macro option. Furthermore when I go out in the nature to take photos I always take a spare battery with myself along with a tripod, a wireless shutter release, and ND filters.Feedback
My best advice is to be prepared most of the time and have your camera nearby. You never know when does a spectacular moment arise. And to take the right shot at the right time you must know your camera well so you won't miss the moment. Luckily with sunsets you have some time to experiment with. However, if you want to be as sure as possible, you may want to do a quick search about the time the golden light shows up.
