I found a family of green herons last spring and shot them through the summer and fall..The older birds were wary but the young adults could be snuck up on..I got some great shots with my 100-400mm canon zoom, they can be found in the middle of my album on view bug.

i will take a look at them. there was a nest of them at our refuge last spring, they had about 4-5 babies. they were always hiding in the bushes. This photo is in that same area. i just love their coloring. thanks for looking at my photos!
