This photo was taken at Worthing seaside (west Sussex) back in January 2014. I was having a day out at the seaside with a friend.Time
It was a lovely sunny day considering it was the middle of January, I was walking along the beach and happen to see this boat. I knew in my minds eye what I wanted to a achieve. I was so glad I had my camera with me that day!Lighting
The sun was shining and hitting the water just right. I love using natural light, which I find is the best light to work with sometimes.Equipment
I used my canons 550d with my 18-55 mm lens. I tend to take my pictures free hand. I used Manuel mode, f.6 1/6.3 ISO 100Inspiration
I could see the after picture, even before I took the shot. I shot lots from different angels so I didn't miss anything. The setting was perfect , so was the weather. This has got to be one of my favourites!Editing
Once i uploaded the photo, i used photomatix and Photoshop mixed with HDR/colour balance . it took me a while before i was completely happy with the outcome. In my camera bag
I always have my canons 550d body with my 50mm /18-33mm/ 70-300mm lens. Making sure i have 2 spare fully charged batteries, SD cards and i have a few. I have a flash but hardly use it.Feedback
My advice is take your camera with you as you never know what you might come across. The good thing with digital, is you can take as many photos as you want and delete what your not happy with. Take shots different times of the day if you can. So you can see the contrast/colours/weather etc.. Sometimes you might have to wait ages for the perfect shot, depending what you're into. Other times you might have that one chance to get a shot. So always be prepared. Photography can never get boring. There is always something out there, that will catch your eye.
