This photo was taken in Bernhards Bay, New York at the North Shore Hunting Club.Time

I had a very hard time with lighting, it was a very sunny day. I am an amateur photographer, so finding the correct settings was a challenge for me. So many pictures did not turn out because some of the best places at the club were in shadow, the light was not always behind me..but this one made the cut.Equipment
My camera is a Canon rebel XS. my lens was the one it came with, an 18 to 55mm zoom lens. i shot in jpeg (gasp!) I now know to shoot in RAW. I used a flash for this shot as it was in the trees and we had trees all around.Inspiration
I wanted that perfect shot. The one that said this one is going on the wall, right where everyone can see it and I want it huge! This is my nephew and my niece's best friend who fell in love and married. The love story it's self..I just wanted to do it justice.Editing
I do post processing, it is so fun! I will take one photo and process it 50 different ways...I realize as a professional photographer, this process wouldn't be ideal, your customers would be forever and a day trying to choose..but for me, I am just having fun and learn while I am doing it..For this one, I am trying to remember, I believe it looks like I used Pioneer Woman's Heartland action and I boosted the contrast. In my camera bag
Honestly...just the camera. I have not progressed enough to get more than that yet. I am still learning what my camera can do and how to take the best shots without trying to learn even more!Feedback
My experience so far when trying to capture the perfect shot is to do a lot of clicking. Take 4-5 shots of the same pose to ensure you are getting the one you want. If you just take one or two, you may get your photo uploaded and find one of them had their eyes open or maybe one was getting fresh with the other and you don't want a shot that shows tongue (personally...I don't want that shot! haha) I would also have your bride and groom understand that a great set of portraits will take a little time and to set an hour or more aside before the reception so that they can feel relaxed getting their photos done. it will help ensure your couple looks happy and natural instead of rushed and anxious.
