Let me tell you the about the interesting relationship between Ants and Aphids. The Ants act as body guards to the Aphids for the reward of Honeydew. Honeydew is a sugar rich sticky liquid secreted by the aphids and is an excellent source of food for the ants. When a predator of the Aphid attacks (in this case a Transverse Ladybird larvae) the Ants will defend the Aphids and attack the larvae.
