I use an alien bee and a PLM for lighting. Light was positioned behind him and to the left so I could shot into the shadow to create some depth.Equipment

Yes, but with newborn portraits it's usually very minimal. Sometimes I clean up the skin and even out the tone if needed. I also softened the edges of the photo.In my camera bag
