Location
This photo was taken on my fathers boat as all of the family headed to our cabin for the weekend. In Placentia Bay, Newfoundland, Canada.Time
I believe this picture was taken early in the morning, around 6 or 7. We had to leave early in the boat to get to the cabin because the wind usually strengthens around noon.Lighting
The lighting was nothing special, it was a very foggy day, a typical day in Newfoundland. I guess on a bright but foggy day the light actually diffuses fairly well.Equipment
This photo was taken with an old canon point and shoot I once had, a camera I sometimes use around water instead of risking my DSLR.Inspiration
I took this photo trying to capture the excitement of my little brother and even our dog looked very excited to be heading to the cabin.Editing
This photo is untouched, uploaded as is.In my camera bag
During this picture the weather was terrible and I had no plans of really taking any pictures, but I do like to always have some sort of camera on me just in case of something special happening. The picture was taken with a point and shoot Canon. Normally tho I always carry my Sony A6000 with me. I like to try and keep my bag light and simple, an ultra wide (Rokinon 12mm F2) a normal (Sigma 30mm F1.4) and a tele (Sony 55-210mm F3.5-5.6). I believe that covers basically everything. I also like to bring along a small set of extension tubes, and if not carrying my full sized carbon fibre tripod I usually have a bendy gorilla pod attached to my bag.Feedback
I like taking candid photos, this picture is a bit of a semi candid I would say. I find you can usually get great and natural reactions of people by catching them off guard and waiting for the shock to leave their face. Usually shouting hey smile! At someone not aware, they will look toward you in shock and then slowly smile, there's a small window to capture that smile before is turns to something unnatural or they go back to what they were doing.
