Behind The Lens

Location

I took this photo in a small summer town called Spirit Lake, IA. It is the view I see when I look outside my living room window. Iowa holds some of the most spectacular sunsets as seen from the picture.

Time

It was about 7 or 8 o'clock in the evening and I walked outside on my deck and saw these peaceful colors as the sun was setting. I couldn't stop myself from taking this picture.

Lighting

I did nothing to the lighting it is all nature all I needed was the tree to silhouette the picture.

Equipment

I used my iPhone 4 for this picture and you can defiantly tell that cameras on phones are getting really good.

Inspiration

I see this tree all the time but that night something inspired me to take the picture with the tree silhouette instead of at the end of my dock. I can't tell you my inspiration because it just happened.

Editing

I did not, this is all mother nature

In my camera bag

I usually use a combination of my phone and of my Canon t3i rebel and the multiple lens I have for the camera.

Feedback

I would say that you just have to trust your gut and take pictures from angles you wouldn't think of originally. You should step out side your comfort zone and take a picture that is unique. And keep taking pictures because at some point you will get the "one" and it will make you feel so accomplished.
