Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken at The Lodge at Emerald Waters in Mayfield, Ky.

Time

It was taken mid afternoon.

Lighting

The light was being diffused by some gigantic frosted windows to the bride's left. All natural.....perfect

Equipment

I beleive this was shot on a Nikon D600 with a Nikkor 50mm 1.8. Handheld all natural lighting.

Inspiration

We were doing bridal portraits and the bride's attention was drawn to what was going on in the other room as we were heading back to the balcony. I saw the way the light was falling across her and just snapped!

Editing

At this point I was running a certain action pack in photoshop. I warm it up slightly and ran a matte on it.

In my camera bag

Nikon D750, Nikon D600, Nikon D7100, Nikon 24-70 2.8, 70-200 2.8, TOKINA 11-16 2.8, Nikon 105 f2 dc, Nikon 50 1.8 Nikon 10.5 fisheye, Nikon 60 macro lens, and the cream of the crop is a Sigma Art 35 1.4. I also carry a Mamiya 645 Pro with an 80mm lens for doing film.

Feedback

Always be paying attention to what is going on. Especially if you are shooting weddings in a more documentary style. Always have your camera at the ready.....set for whatever lighting conditions you may be in.
