Sunset, we were flying west on our approach into NOLA.Lighting
During sunset photography, I've found the best results come from two things (1) find a focal object in the foreground to ground the picture and add depth. (2) Manage your exposure to make your colors more impactful - aka underexpose (possible even on a iPhone).Equipment
I travel weekly for my job, I don't typically have my DSLR out during take off and landing. Due to that, I've learned how to "manage" the settings on my iPhone 6s to deliver quality pictures. I always carry my exolens case which allows me to take even better photos on my iPhone.Inspiration
Like I've said, I live a large portion of my life in the air, so I've gotten a little addicted to capturing the beautiful scenes we miss when distracted in flight. 10K, 20K, 30K feet has a way of putting of significance in perspective.Editing

I'm an amateur photographer, so I'm far from an expert. But, the Joby Gorillapod (tripod) is awesome and a polarizing lense can be clutch for my DSLR. For my iPhone, exolens does the trick always.Feedback
If at first you don't success... try it more often. I've found practice makes perfect when it comes to photography.
