Behind The Lens
Location
the photo is taken in my basement apt. I am self taught photographer that have gone to school to learn how to use studio equiement.Time
the photo is taken at night went i was working in my school assigment. my cat jump up on to the table i was using as a studio.Lighting
the lighting that I use to is lamps that i get from home depot. I was playing with lighting went my cat jump up on to the table studio. I like the way the light lit her up.Equipment
this shot with my canon 5d mark III on my 24-70 lens without a tripod.Inspiration
to be honest this photo was not plan in anyway. is more like I took advantage of the moment itself. since my cat have jump up on to my table and sit down. I decided to use her as my model at the very last moment. since i figure just as long she is sitting there and going to be in the way might as well use her as my model.Editing
the photo have been sitting in my lightroom for a long time. I like the photo a lot but i have not figure out how to process it. one day i decided to convert from color to black & white. I increase the contrast in lightroom on the left side of the photo that was not dark enough in color.I make it darker to give it the photo a moody but film noir feel. like a the cat belong to a detective waiting for it next case to show up.In my camera bag
I normally carry 2 lens and 1 camera body in my bag. the one that I always have with me is 24-70 mm, the lens itself is very heavy once you attach to the camera. I love the range of photo i can get with the lens. as for my 2nd it depend on my mood i either have wide angel lens 28-135 mm or my telephoto 75-300 mm with me.Feedback
if you have cat I would suggest take advantage of the moment to be honest. since you cannot bribe a cat with treat or tell the cat to leave. take advantage of the moment always keep your camera and phone on standby. don't move or disturb the little fella. went my cat jump on to my tabletop studio I take advantage of that moment and use her as my model or better yet as a prop.
