The short answer is you take a photo like this by moving very quickly. The shot was taken during a spring Nor'Easter. Being very familiar with the landscape I knew where to position myself. I went to the backside of the lighthouse to capture the waves as they broke against the seawall. I dodged waves in the rain f0r about an hour and a half, taking about 150 frames. This was the best.Equipment
I shot this image with a Canon 20D and an 18-55mm lens, hand held.Inspiration
I am in awe of the power of the Ocean.Editing
Quite a bit, I needed to bring out detail in both shadow and highlights. In my camera bag
Now I have a Canon 60D, also a Canon 50D. In my bag I also have a 17-50 2.8mm, a 70-200 2.8 And an 85mm 1.8and a 200-400mm lens. I also carry a few Singh-Ray filters.Feedback
Go where others won't go and snap a lot of frames.
