Location
This photo was taken near the Old Port of Montreal.Time
I took this photo in the early afternoon.Lighting
The sky was overcast that day so the lighting is very flat and diffused.Equipment
I shot this with my starter camera, a Canon Rebel T1i with a Sigma 18-200mm f/3.5-6.3. I was a human tripod!Inspiration
I saw a similar photo while looking at examples of couples poses on Google Images. This was from my first ever couples portfolio building session. I wish I knew who the photographer was that inspired me to take this! We walked all over the Old Port until I found the perfect spot to capture this photo. Unfortunately I have no idea exactly where I took it and it would be hard to do this again.Editing
I did this so long ago I don't remember what kind of post-processing I did! I'm pretty sure it was just some minor exposure/colour correcting and maybe some skin touch ups.In my camera bag
I still carry around the Canon Rebel T1i and the Sigma 18-200mm f/3.5-6.3. and also have the "nifty fifty" Canon 1.8 lens. I carry around a set of macro tubes, a Canon Speedlight 430 EX-II, a couple of filters for the 50mm, a diffuser and bouncer for the flash, and then the usually memory cards, batteries, pens, a flashlight, business cards, gum, a screw driver (you never know when you might need it!) lens cloths, and remote. Sometimes I toss a Nikon D700 in there with a 24-120mm f/4 and an 85mm f/1.8. I have an awesome mentor who lends me his gear when I need something a little better than what I've got. I have an awesome bag that can hold everything and still be easy to transport.Feedback
An overpass over a coblestone road is your best bet. A really tall ladder could work too. Make sure to arrange hair and clothing to look like it is vertical.
