This photo was taken at the valhalla renaissance faire in South Lake Tahoe, CA. During the danse macabre event that circles the entire faire.Time
I remember being very worried with this pictures due to the fact they were taken in early afternoon on a bright sunny day in June.Lighting
Due to the brightness of the sun I spent a lot of time waiting for the group to move more into shadows to allow them to seem more covered in shadows. Unfortunately there wasn't many shadows around to get the light I wanted so i focused more on capturing the body movement of the subject.Equipment
Nikon D40, no tripod.Inspiration
I've been coming to this faire since I was a very young child, and this dance had always scared. As I grew older I saw so much beauty in the movement and forms that the dancers made. I wanted to capture the beauty that I saw.Editing
I edited to Sepia, enhanced the shadows and built up the contrast a bit.In my camera bag

Because my subject never stopped moving I spent a long time following him and trying to capture all the photos of his movement that I could. I ended up with over 100 photos of this specific dance. It was very hard to predict how he was going to move, I took a lot of photos that focused on his upper body and face so because those were the least movement intense of his dance.
