I took this in my home-made studio in my house in Nottingham. I have never tried taking photos like this before so it was just experimenting to see how it would come out!Time
I think it was sometime during the day, mid-afternoon.Lighting
It was natural lighting through the window and possibly a flash from the camera.Equipment
I used a Canon EOS D600. The lens was 100mm Canon Macro lens. It was taken on a tripod.Inspiration
I'd seen a previous challenge for macro make-up and I fancied playing around with some ideas. I went through my whole make-up bag and grouped them into product types. At the end I found this at the bottom of my bag and it was really different to all the rest. I thought it would be a good idea just to have it on its own. I've never done much with ordinary objects (I usually stick to nature and animals) but it was quite addictive and I really enjoyed it and the results!Editing
Just a little tweaking to fix the lighting and colour, nothing too special. In my camera bag
I've only been doing photography as a hobby for a year so I don't have much. My two Canon lenses (18-58mm and 100mm) and a polarizing filter. I've recently got a crystal orb so I am looking forward to working with that. I used to use a reverse ring before getting my macro lens so that's still in my bag too.Feedback
It was so easy to create that anyone can do it! My home-made studio is from a bed sheet hung over a clothes rail and a table! The lighting is natural from a window so nothing fancy there either. The only "difficult" bit really is finding something interesting to photograph and putting it into an interesting position! Other than having an eye for the interesting, I'd say that anyone could easily re-create this or a similar image!
