Behind The Lens

Location

This image was taken in Puerto Natales, Southern Chile

Time

Late afternoon

Lighting

Fast moving clouds in an often windy area of the Chilean Patagonia

Equipment

Camera Nikon D810, 24-70mm at 24mm, tripod and ND fliter

Inspiration

Certainly the wind and the pontoon.

Editing

Lens correction

In my camera bag

Two camera bodies Nikon D810 and D3 14-24mm f2.8 16mm fisheye f2.8 24-70mm f2.8 70-200mm f2.8 105mm macro f2.8 500mm f4 Tripod headtorch shutter remote a couple of filters

Feedback

I have taken this image on a very slow shutter 30 seconds in daytime to create movement in the sky and water (you would need a black filter to allow less light, so that you can slow down the shutter) and a sturdy tripod (wind might be a problem with light tripods). From a composition point of view, I experiment and sometimes breaking the rules (rule of third etc) can only be great.
