Behind The Lens
Location
This was taken a few years ago at the Indianapolis Zoo. This is where I keep up my skills shooting wildlife when I cannot get out and shoot wildlife. I enjoy taking portraits of wildlife to capture their features.Time
I get to the zoo as soon as they open (9:00 am), so it was just shortly after that on a cloudy day.Lighting
Lighting is all natural - cloudy!Equipment
This was shot handheld with an Olympus OMD EM5 along with Olympus 40-150 mm Pro lens. I shot this at 150mm which is 35mm equivalent of 300 mm.Inspiration
I enjoy taking portraits of wildlife to capture their features and expressions and this bear just happened to cooperate that day.Editing
This was straight out of camera.except for my watermark. In my camera bag
I have Olympus gear - EM1.2 and an EM5.2. Lenses include Oly 12-100 mm F4 Pro, 12-40 F2.8 Pro, 40-150 mm F4 Pro, 300mm F4 Pro, and Lenbaby lenses. Typically have some filters and because I also shoot infrared with my KolariVision 590nm converted EM5.2 I carry some infrared filters as well for different looksFeedback
Patience is absolute. I wait until just the right moment to take a photo. I have my camera set with the correct settings ahead of time, so all I have to do is refine the focus and shoot.
