Location
I went out on a cool fall evening to catch the sunset at a local beach in my town.Time
This was taken in the early evening in the fall.Lighting
I took advantage of the strong golden hour lighting at the beach and really liked how it was streaming onto the fallen leaves and sand through the trees. The woman sitting at the table was a bonus and I managed to get some backlighting on her.Equipment
Nikon D7100, 18-140 mm lens and tripodInspiration
As soon as I saw a bit of the golden light I drove down to the beach as we don't get many pretty or colorful sunsets in the winter where I live so I try to shoot them when I can. This evening worked out well, I think.Editing
I did the basic editing in Lightroom CC, then used Color efex to bring out some more glow of the gold tones. In my camera bag
I usually have my Nikon D7100 with my 80-400 mm lens for shooting birds or animals. I also like to bring my Olympus Em5 Mark II with a 12 - 40 mm pro lens and 45 mm.Feedback
As always with landscape photography you need to be prepared for the changing light and sky especially during the golden hour or sunset and sunrise times. It's a good idea to arrive at your location early if you're waiting for sunrise or sunset. I make sure I have a small flashlight with me so I'm able to see my gear properly if I'm loosing the light.
