This image was actually taken in my bedroom using a green screen, which i then composited onto a stock image of a forest, which i added a few effects to. Living in Australia there art many forests around that have this eerie character to them so I improvised. I plan to reshoot this image in the UK however using my own background. stock image from http://sacral-stock.deviantart.com/art/Foggy-Forest-26-431816610Time
About 6pm at night. I'm not sure what time the background was takenLighting
i used a 2 light setup for this Shoot. One speed light and umbrella 45 degrees from the front right of the model and a torch lighting the back of the model and green screen.Equipment
I Used a canon 5D MK3 with a 50mm 1.4 sigma lens. Green screen, speed light and torchInspiration
I'm not quite sure I just had this image in my head of a beautiful girl walking enticingly through a forest, kind of mystical like. I added the disintegrating dress to make it more magical and mystical.Editing
There was quite a lot of post processing. First i processed the model, cleaned up a few blemishes. (I don't like to heavy edit faces as I like to capture natural beauty.) I then cut out the model and dress and dropped it onto the background. For the background i had cleaned up a few distracting branches and bits of rubbish then added a colour filter. Once the model was resized to fit the background i did some colour correction to blend her properly, and cleaned up any extra parts of green screen. I then started work on the dress. Using the clone stamp i lengthened the dress (it was actually long enough to start with but it didn't all fit in the frame. I used a few different shots of the dress and cloned them together to get the full length. I then used a technique of duplicating, warping and stamping to get the disintegrating effect on the dress. My bag depends on the type of shoot. Usually if I'm just out and about and not sure what I'm going to find, i travel light. I Usually pack my canon 5d mk3 with my 16-35L and 70-200L and either a flash or my 24-70L I do a lot of real estate photography so usually i just have my 5D mk3, tripod, 16-35L 2 speed lights and shutter release.Feedback
If you are new to compositing images, you will not get it perfect first time. shoot heaps of images, so you have backups in case the one you thought was perfect wasn't. You may even need to splice two shots together. Using the head from one shot and the body from another. just keep playing around in photoshop, watch tutorials, keep learning, and never give up. practise makes perfect
