Location
This photo was taken while camping at Pigeon Lake Provincial Park Campground, Alberta Canada.Time
I took this particular image at 11:54 am back in September 2013 - a beautiful fall day.Lighting
I remember the day as having really great lighting. It was bright sunlight but the trees in the area helped to mask it. What I loved was the opportunity for shadows.Equipment
I used my Sony SLT A77 along with a Sony DT1650mm Lens and a polarizing filter.Inspiration
Light, shadows and simple were definitely the inspiration here. I wanted to create the "KISS" principle (Keep It Simple Stupid) using what was around me.Editing
Yep! I cropped, sharpened, vignette and a little glow were applied via CS6 and Nik Color Efex.In my camera bag
Normally I have my Sony SLT A77 and one lens. Right now I am favoring the DT1650mm. I usually carry my tripod for long exposure scenarios.Feedback
I think we can utilize our surroundings to create a memorable image. A single leaf and a picnic table are sometimes just enough to construct a unique photo. You do not necessarily have to leave the spot you're camping in to get great shots. Think outside the box and keep it simple, stupid :)
