Location
I like to take pictures of babies and newborns directly in their own house. Especially for this little boy, who was only 16 days old.Time
I prefer to use the natural light, therefore, I always arrange my shooting when I can have the most brightness of a day. In this special occasion, was 12.00am of a day of late winter.Lighting
I placed my little model right in front of the window, to catch the best of the light into the room.Equipment
I used my full-frame camera Canon Eos 6D and Canon 50mm f1.8 which I find amazing. I needed anything else.Inspiration
Newborns are extremely natural. You can really place them in every position. In this moment he was waking up, after a deserved short nap, in this natural and comfortable position. I started to look at him and he started to open slowly these beautiful blue eyes and to do so many funny expression with his face. I straight took the camera to catch this fantastic moment.Editing
I worked on levels of light/contrast/temperature. After this I adjusted a bit the colour of the skin and corrected some little imperfections.In my camera bag

Be patient and you will achieve the best from newborns. Use prime lenses to create the magical effect of the blurring.
