Behind The Lens

Location

Hi, this photo was taken in my home studio. Took me about 3 months to built, it is not huge but does the trick. If I remember correctly, this was about my third shoot in my studio and also only the third time that I have been making use of studio lights so a new challenge for me.

Time

This was shot in the afternoon, the time of day really not an issue cause it was done in a studio.

Lighting

I used Bowens studio lights, bought it secondhand but was really worth the money.

Equipment

I used my Canon 40D and tried various settings to get the best result.

Inspiration

I luv pin-up - with pin-up you can really be creative. I had quite a lot of different props so we just tried various ideas.

Editing

I use Photoshop for post-processing. I converted this photo to black-and-white and pushed up the contrast to get the desired effect.

In my camera bag

Basically just my camera and a few normal lenses, something for wide angle and a zoom lens with a Canon Flash

Feedback

I always try to create something different in my photoshoots - they don't always work but every now and then something brilliant jumps up. My advice is always try different things, never give up and make sure you and your model enjoys the shoot!!
