Location
This was taken at Arches National Park in Utah, during 2014. This was my first time visiting this park and it seemed around every corner of the trail was another outstanding view. It is a good thing that digital is now the thing, since I would have gone through so many rolls of film, just at this one site.Time
This was taken early in the morning, before it got too warm. This trail wandered among several arches and canyons before ending up at the final arch. It was quiet and there were very few hikers on the trail, so I was able to get close to the arches and explore the surroundings before putting them into memory.Lighting
Lighting is from the sun, late morning, before it got too warm.Equipment
This camera is a Canon T3I, with a 18-55 zoom lens.Inspiration
The inspiration for this picture was the pure size of the arch. It overflows the ground and seems too big to be real, or strong.Editing
The only post-processing was to increase brightness and increase saturation. In my camera bag
Besides the camera and main lens, I have a telephoto zoom lens (55-200mm), gradiated filters and holder, cleaners, etc. and and a tripod.Feedback
All national parks have some extraordinary features that stirred people to fight for their protection. Open your eyes to all the potential beauty and history that made the park worthy of saving and protecting. Some parks are already starting to limit daily usage because we are loving them to death. Go before we are more severely limited.
