Location
I took this photo outside of Fort Williams, Scotland aboard the Jacobite Steam Train. It is also known as the Harry Potter train! The train stops en route to Mallaig at the village of Glenfinnan Beyond Glenfinnan are the beautiful villages of Lochailort, Arisaig, Morar and Mallaig.Time
The photo was taken in the late afternoon in the month of June.Lighting
It was beautiful Scotland afternoon, partly cloudy at times.Equipment
I took this with a simple point and shoot camera I borrowed from my father! I had Nikon 35 mm with several lenses but did not want to carry it overseas! No other equipment.Inspiration
I loved the architecture of the tressel and was thrilled that I could see most of the train as it went around the curve on the beautiful structure. I also wanted to capture this moment in our trip as this is the train that portions of the Harry Potter movies were filmed on. I believe this tressel is also in one of the movie scenes. Although I was not too familiar with Harry Potter my nephews and grandson are all fans.Editing
I cropped the photo and adjusted the tint and lighting a bit....not much!In my camera bag
I now have a better camera, Nikon Coolpix, extra batteries, SD card, and tripod. I am hoping to upgrade to better digital camera with a variety of lenses.Feedback
I like to picture in my mind what I wish to capture and then patiently wait for just the right moment to get the shot.
