The photo was taken on the circuit of Tourneix, France. During a friends motorcycle trainingTime
It was at the end of the summer, late afternoonLighting
The sun was about to set behind the hills to the left. The light was golden to perfection, giving the impression that the sky was on fireEquipment
Just my old Canon 1000D and the Canon 50mm f/1.4 (Iso 200, f1.4, 1/1500)Inspiration
I shoot without really thinking. It was during a break. A motorcyclist had just made a "burn" just on the left and the wind just pushed the smoke behind the bike. When I saw that, coupled with the atmosphere of the orange sunset, I knew that there was a photo opportunityEditing
With Camera raw, I have a little underexposed the raw. Then with photoshop I added contrast, makes dodge and burn to the bike comes out and I accentuated the colors were not as orange on the originalIn my camera bag
At the time of the photo, I often had my Canon 1000D, my Sigma 10-20mm and my Canon 50mm f/1.4. Now it is a Sony Nex-5r with horrible 16-50 kit lens, a Gorillapod, and sometimes my Sigma 10-20 (mounted with a ring)Feedback
In summer, do not hesitate to go out in the evening to enjoy the golden light of sunset. The colors are often beautiful. And then, take a look to your surroundings, because sometimes the "right" image is not always where you expect it.
