I try to always shoot this time of day - ideally the end of a mild sunny day.Equipment
Nikon D90 - and I only had a kit lens (18-55). Just natural light - no reflector or flash.Inspiration
Children love bubbles, even when they are growing out of childhood. I wanted to reflect that sense of wonder and capture a moment.Editing
I muted the tones, by desaturating to give it a slightly vintage feel. Increased the contrast slightly also.In my camera bag
This is why I like shooting in my garden as I can have all my equipment to hand! If I am on location I'll add a reflector and speedlight as well as my 50mm f1.8.Feedback
Shoot and shoot and shoot again with bubbles - it takes time, patience and an assistant to get the bubbles, positioning, light and expressions right.
