Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken in my front yard Where our our Apple trees are.

Time

it was at about noon that the photo was taken.

Lighting

Well I remember it being an absolutely gorgeous day outside the lighting was beautiful the sun was shining through the leaves. It was perfect!

Equipment

I used a Canon rebel with the standard "Nifty fifty" lens. Nothing to fancy.

Inspiration

There is quite a story behind this photo! Starting at the beginning, I live in Upstate NY near Canada. The winters here are Brutal to say the least, but this particular winter before this photo was taken was extremely harsh. We were getting snow storm after snow storm one storm we got (and I'm not kidding here) 6 feet of snow. In a matter of three days. but what followed this storm was what people are now referring to as the Ice storm of 2013. At first it was freezing rain but before we knew it We lost power, trees were falling everywhere, and there was a thick layer of ice covering everything. We were without power for three days. We then after all this had weeks of clean up from trees falling all around us, and were very disappointed to find that our two Apple trees were damaged from the layer of ice. In the summer following We had all but given up as We didn't see many blossoms on the tree. Fast forward to Fall all the Blossoms has fallen off the tree, and We didn't see any signs of apples at all what so ever except one day I had my camera outside with Me. My Daughter and I were heading out to take a walk when I looked up and saw one lone apple in the tree. I was so amazed that I stopped to take a picture, and I had realized maybe there is hope for our apple trees after all.

Editing

No I definitely didn't but I can say that if I knew then what I know now about photography I probably would have. As I now shoot in RAW.

In my camera bag

My Camera bag has since been updated some. I now own a Tripod, Remote shutter, Telephoto lens, and Filters. I know a lot more About photography and can do a lot more with all these things.

Feedback

Make sure your photos have a lot of meaning behind them, Something you can look back on and tell your Kids, Grandkids, other relatives, Friends, and Neighbors about. Photos like that I personally always seem to find very interesting. Its like your photographing History.
