This photo was taken at a local pub, Firkin Centurion. I am a self taught photographer, and enjoy Concert PhotographyTime
We would normally go to Firkin around 21:30, so I guess this shot was captured around 22:00 - 23:00.Lighting
Doing Concert photography you have to think on your feet so to speak, you have to make constant adjustments according to the changing light.Equipment
This was still in my early days of Concert Photography. I used my Canon 600D with 50mm lens, no other equipment was used.Inspiration
Wow, this is not easy one to answer. During one night of Concert Photography you can easily walk with more than 600 photos captured in a matter of 2 - 3 hours. Afterwards, during my post-processing this was one of the images that caught my attention. I just love the way the light, the smoke, the emotion from the lead singer came together.Editing
Yes, shooting RAW all my images are post-processed. I prefer not to overdo the post processing. This image just received some White Balance and Tonal adjustments with some sharpening, nothing majorIn my camera bag
I have done some upgrades since taking this photo back in Sept 2013. Now I shoot with my Canon 70D, which will have my Tamron 70-200mm F/2.8 VC mounted. My other body is still my Canon 600D, but mounted with my 24-70mm F/2.8 VCFeedback
A great source of learning and inspiration for Concert Photography is the book by Alan Hess, "All Access, Your Backstage Pas to Concert Photography". Furthermore I have also watched KelbyOne podcasts (they now also have a Youtube channel) for more than a year, before becoming a KelbyOne member/subscriber.
