These are all lodgings for pilgrims in Rishikesh, where the Hindu's Holy River Ganges enters the plains after originating from the Ice Caves of the Himalayas. Most rest houses are maintained by Hindu and other religious organizations and the rent will be very nominal. Pilgrims throng Rishkesh through out the year to have a dip in the Holy Ganga.
