Location
I took this image on the south west side of Treasure Island in the San Francisco Bay. I had to climb over a fence and down a hill to get to this spot.Time
I took this image on July 19, 2013 at 5:38 amLighting
The goal was to get the blue light of the sunrise and still have the lights of the city under the bridge, there was still some fog part way on the skyline, but I think it was probably a good thing. Getting the blue light above the fog and a light yellow/orange light on the city.Equipment
I shot this image with a Canon t3i with a 18mm-55mm lens at 18mm focal length at 1/6 sec with an ISO of 3200 on a tripod , no flash and I used a shutter release button.Inspiration
Well there was three of us taking this shot,I saw a similar shot of this taken from a boat but for me it was to low and we wanted to be closer to the bridge. It was in a place that was hard to get to especially in the dark but it was worth it.Editing
I used very little post processing, a little contrast and saturationIn my camera bag
My bag usually has my Canon 3ti, 18mm-55mm,24mm-105mm and 55mm-250mm lenses. I also have ND filter,a polarizer filter,a graduated ND filter, a flash and my tripod and I take a flashlight and a level to level the camera and a few other thingsFeedback
Try to take your images at around sunset or sunrise to get the blue light. It would be best to try to take it on a clear day with some clouds. I really enjoy taking pictures and it's pretty much all I think about anymore and images like this make it worth getting up early..
