Behind The Lens

Location

Treasure Island

Time

8PM

Lighting

The sun was setting and I really wanted a good shot of my favorite bridge/city in a different and dynamic way.

Equipment

Canon 5D Mark III + Canon 16-35mm F/.2.8L II + RRS tripod/head/L bracket

Inspiration

The Bay Bridge has always been such an icon for me. Everyone takes pictures of the Golden Gate bridge, and it is significant but for me, but crossing the Bay Bridge as a kid left a mark on my soul. It meant my family and I were going to do something fun in the city. This bridge signifies a lot more than just a beautiful piece of architecture, it stands for what bridges do, connect.

Editing

Post was simple, I upped the contrast, added some sharpness, gave it some vibrancy, and added micro contrast as well. Along with making the darks/blacks stand out, it was a simple process. I knew what I wanted it to look like, so it wasn't difficult for me to make it happen in lightroom. I've had a clear vision of what I wanted this image to look like even before I took it.

Feedback

Have a vision in your head, and make it happen. It's not complicated. Just make time for it.
