Behind The Lens

Location

I took this photo at a small park in Brantford, Ontario. It had a trail beside it that you can follow along the small creek. This was was close to the park as I got at the time.

Time

It was the afternoon, sometime after 3:15 but before 4:15. I remember this because my husband brought the kids home from school, and was going to leave for work at 4:30. It was about 30 minutes before it started to snow.

Lighting

It was cloudy outside, mid day. Otherwise there was nothing particularly interesting or worthy about the lighting.

Equipment

Canon Rebel T3, with the standard 18-55mm lens.

Inspiration

The scenery was beautiful. I love trying to capture the beauty in an area or object. I love trying to show it as though you've stepped into a moment in time, and this is one I personally wouldn't mind seeing myself. It's peaceful and serene, and yet it's crisp and clear. I wanted to attempt to capture that moment.

Editing

I tend to adjust little things from exposure and contrast and colors since my shots come out neutral on my computer. There's a moment of calm that I find while making these small adjustments. After that, I took the time to adjust it so it came out how I wanted in black and white.

In my camera bag

I currently don't have anything in my bag other then my Canon Rebel T3 and the lens it came wirh. My plans are to acquire at least two more lens and a tripod.

Feedback

Take the time to explore the surroundings, and sit back and think if this is something you would want to see again. Try and find the beauty that's there. Take a breath, and hold it for a moment before clicking. Take several shots, move just slightly it zoom in some. Zoom out, calorie the whole area and pieces in it. I have several pictures that this single picture has come from. And don't be afraid to ask purple their opinion, but remember, it's what makes you the most happy that should matter.
