Location
That place is located near Baie Ste-Catherine, Québec, Canada on road 138Time
I was driving on the road to the Fjord of Saguenay at sunset, when I saw that place. I immediately stopped on the side, and took some minutes to shot the moment. This was taken during Indian summer in Quebec, I mean begin of October.Lighting
the sun light was ideal to have that reflection on the lake, just before golden hour at sunset. and it was not too windy also.Equipment
Canon EOS 40D, hand-held, no flash.Inspiration
I think i had the chance to be at the right place at the right time! Then it was just finding the good angle to make it like a postcard ;)Editing
HDR made with 3 pcitures bracketing -2 0 +2 and post-processed with Lightroom and Photomatix. I increased a bit the saturation to enhance the colors. In my camera bag
I now have a Canon EOS 7D, with 17-50mm f/2.8 ; 55-250 mm , and a macro 10mm lens. Flash speedlite 430 EX2, some filters, a wireless remote controller; an Olympus TG-4 when I want to be lighter , or waterproof.Feedback
don't hesitate to go out early in the morning at sunrise, or late in the evening at sunset. That's when the light is the best to have beautiful vivid colors. HDR can pop up some pictures by having the good exposure on every part of the image. Try it.
