Shot with a Canon 70D, using a Canon EF 70 - 200mm USM the lens doesn't have an image stabilizer - however I took the shot freehand I rarely use a tripodInspiration
I love doing the SLSC and Surfing because of the combination you get between capturing the action and the addition of the water streaming off to add dramaEditing

Stay on the move, too often you see photographers on the beach with their tripods waiting for the shot to come to them - take yourself to the moment and be patient. If you can work the light to your advantage coupled with the movement of the Ocean you'll get some great action shots full of emotion.
