Behind The Lens

Location

I took this photo in La Jolla CA.

Time

It was taken around sunset

Lighting

The lighting was incredible on its own. Just a beautiful partly cloudy San Diego day.

Equipment

Shot with my nikon 7100, A refurbished lens, a polarizing filter and tripod

Inspiration

I wanted to capture the pier and the sky. I had my tripod set up and was taking pictures when this surfer stood right in front of my camera. I tried to click my camera as to say please move. I really did not realize how great it was to have him there until I returned home and looked at the pictures. I definitely owe him a big thank you.

Editing

I did some minor post processing in photoshop.

In my camera bag

nikon 7100, polarizing filter, uv filter, brand new sigma 1.4 lens

Feedback

My advice is dont focus on your equipment. Go out and shoot with what you have. Enjoy yourself. Capture your world. This picture was luck for me and my favorite part is his feet sinking in the sand.
